So Tyler has been applying for jobs and going to interviews with no luck! One day he applied at Kids Inc. and they wanted to interview him right away. He got dressed and ran out the door. He came back saying he got the job! The boss knew him from 10th street because her son had been in it when Tyler was in it. He said it was part time working with the before and after school kids. So, one night, he goes to the training meeting and they say, “Welcome directors”. Tyler raised his hand wondering if he was in the wrong room! They said he is actually THE director of the before and after school program! He has his own room and assistants that work under him! He has been going to many trainings and working many hours already. The 1st day with his kids is Wednesday (when school starts. ) He is so excited and taking this position very seriously. I am super proud of him and the efforts I have seen so far. He also signed up at the Rockwell athletic center and I hope to see him go every day.
He told us he needed major help in his classroom. I truly didn't imagine what we would have to do. Alayna was there with him 3-4 hours Friday night. Bob and I were with him 6 hours Saturday (while Alayna was at Youth Conference). Wow! That room has been neglected for many many years and must have gone through several directors! It reminded me alot of the hoarder house we tried to help out with in LA. Alayna and Tyler spent most of Friday night just cleaning garbage and stuff off the floors and moving things. When Bob and I came we were cleaning out closets and areas that were nasty dirty as well as full of garbage. We took out 7 bags of trash on Saturday!!! Im kicking myself for not taking before pictures because truly you would be shocked to see the difference!
Again, you should have seen the before pics
He made a display of dog books to go with his trivia question and theme for his 1st week
Bob has made it clear that germs cannot be transferred from all those kids to him. lol
And the kids love him already! He has 22 students enrolled.
So proud of you Tyler!!!
