Finally!! It’s the last day of school tomorrow! I still have to work Tuesday and Wednesday but I will finally get a small break. We have still been busy and we look forward to the break. This week in a nutshell…

~Marisa earned the “Stake Presidents Award” in seminary by memorizing the scripture mastery, reading the New Testament, learning the apostles, etc. She is the only one in her seminary that received it.

~I took Marisa, Kayla, and their friends shopping last Saturday. They all got some adorable clothes. (I have decided that the mirrors in the dressing rooms add 40 pounds). They all had fun and took lots of pictures for Marisa’s modesty collage she is doing for personal progress.

~Yesterday, I dropped Marisa and several friends off at the mall to do more “shopping”. They were there for 5 hours.

~Yesterday Kayla attended a pageant her friend was in. Her friend ended up being runner up for the Miss Iowa Pre-teen Pageant.

~Both Kayla and Tyler had sleepovers at their friends houses this weekend.

~Marisa and Kayla helped run the Daddy-daughter dance for Activity Days at church. They helped girls with crafts and helped with refreshments.

~Tyler had a “Survivor Day” at school this week. Hopefully he can tell you all about it in his blog.

~Marisa is done with school and is now officially a sophomore.

~Marisa and I helped walk all the 1st graders down to Dairy Queen to buy ice cream. Sheesh! It was quite a hike and a bird pooped on Alaynas head while we were walking.

~At my school, I helped run “Latin America Culture Day”. Then I had a slight emergency on Friday when I promised my students a pizza party for staying off the homework lunch list all year, but the pizza place didn’t open by the time the party started. Long story short it became a walking taco day.

Happy 15th birthday Marisa!!!!

Even though we didnt have an official party, we still had her special bday dinner and then she requested peanut butter rice krispie treats for dessert! Then we watched the premiere of So You Think You Can Dance! Hopefully it was a perfect birthday!!

It's FINALLY summer!!!!!

May 24

Alayna came home sick early on Friday. She had a high fever and ached so much that it was hard for her to move. I rocked her while watching TV for about 7 hours that evening. Brought back many memories of when she was a baby. She is feeling much better today.
Tyler had his final band concert this week. It looks like he will still play the trombone in middle school. He is getting very excited to go in to middle school next year. He also had his end-of-the-year track meet on Monday. Hopefully he will write about all this stuff along with the dodgeball tournament against the Marion Police Officers. He thought that was the coolest thing EVER!
Kayla went on the temple trip to Nauvoo yesterday. She really loved it and even got to visit the fudge shop. Sweet! She was very sick this week along with Marisa and Alayna and missed 2 ½ days of school. So, she is spending the holiday weekend trying to get caught back up.
Marisa turned 15 this week. Happy Birthday Marisa!!! She is counting down the days now until she turns 16 and can date and drive by herself. She chose not to have an actual birthday party but to take the money I would have spent and go shopping instead. We haven’t done our girls shopping day yet but hope to go this weekend. She had her final orchestra concert as well. During it, they did all the awards and Marisa actually lettered her Freshman year! How cool is that?? She also auditioned for and made the top orchestra for next year plus scored a division 1 on her solo and her ensemble (the highest score you can get) Pretty cool!
We have a very busy week ahead. We have the annual ward Memorial Day party. Hopefully we will get to go canoeing. Only 10 days of school left- HALLELUJAH!!! The last day is a Monday though (what idiot approved that??) so it will be a very long day. Then we are hoping to take the whole family to see Night at The Museum 2. Anyone want to come with us??
