Beware of the sleep-deprived mom!

Beware of the sleep-deprived mom!

That one warning sums up the week pretty well. It would be easier to list what we didn’t do than what we did. May is always so nutty. I guess that’s what always makes me so incredibly grateful for summer!

1. Happy 18th Birthday Marisa!

Marisa turned 18 yesterday! Yeah for another adult! She also finished her last day of high school and is so thrilled to be done with it all and move on to BYU!!

2. Tyler Band Concert

Tyler had his final middle school band concert! It was very crowded so I didn’t get any good pictures.

3. Last orchestra concert

Marisa had her final orchestra concert! She lettered again- her 4th year! They played the theme to Star Wars and Beethoven’s 5th which warmed my heart! At the end, they recognized all the seniors and their parents and yes that meant we had to actually go on stage. Each senior gave their mom a rose. She and I hugged and then headed down the stage and totally forgot bob. We left him standing there with no hug or anything as the audience laughed. Ooops!

4. Exciting News

Kayla got a job at Hyvee! I think she starts next week. This will be good for her to get into the swing of it over the summer.

5. State Fest!

Alayna had her big State Fest this week! She had a beautiful display with her special float for Arizona that she made.

8. Seminary Breakfast

We had the seminary breakfast on Friday. Marisa won the “Eve Award” for looking after all the seminary students like a mother. Kayla won the “Rebekah Award” for being beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.

9. Saturday

Spent ALL day working on yard for grad party.

Cleaned out, washed, and shampooed the girls car! It was filthy! It took several hours but looks and smells way better!

Bob and Tyler went mountain biking.  Tyler, um, flipped and had an accident.  You know us Harts and bikes!!  He is covered in bruises and road rash and he said the thorns he had to wade through “stabbed him 50 times”.  Must have been painful…

Finished our garden and got mulch on it.

Trimmed the roses and raspberry bushes- both of which are flourishing

Cleaned up the yard and swept the front porch. Be impressed- I haven’t swept that in years.

Took a load to goodwill- I think this summer I may have a “crap” giveaway.

Did the grocery shopping and meal planning for the crazy week which lies before us.

Cut Bob and Tyler’s hair. They both look much better even though tyler says its too short and he looks like a marine.

Kayla wrote her talk (that she gave today) and she and marisa went to some grad parties and a movie party last night.
