I had a nice birthday last week as I turned 46. I really wish I could slow time down. I took Friday off from work and Bob took me to lunch at Olive Garden.
It’s been an interesting mothers day. My upper respiratory infection came back so I was up 6 hours Friday night coughing. Then I cleaned and ran errands all day Saturday, but couldn't get to sleep until almost 2AM because of the meds I'm on for the infection. I just woke up at noon. So, I am glad I slept but sad I missed church and half the day already!
I FINALLY got some pictures of Alayna from her final choir concert and tennis.
We had such an awesome skype with Sara Weldon who is going on the Great Viking Quest!!! She built the boat on her own! (Taught herself how to build it!) It will be a 6 month trip and she will break 4 world records. How cool is that?! Not only did we get to ask her some really cool stuff, but she happened to be off the boat for our call and had 3 girls with her (almost the same age as our students) who had never skyped before. I wish I could have captured the excitement in the room as questions flew back and forth between all the kids!! They showed us their school uniforms, their money, their American candy box that just arrived. So much excitement and learning. And if that wasn’t enough, if we send Sara $1 she will engrave our names in her boat. What?!?! http://www.thegreatbritishvikingquest.com/
