Sweet 16 (May 28, 2010)
Marisa’s Sweet 16 Party was a HUGE success! We had about 40 kids show throughout the evening so we thought it was a great turnout.
(Cooling off by the fan)
We had the chocolate fountain- you can NEVER go wrong with that. We had tons of stuff to dip in it too. Then we had a drink table outside with soda and a veggie tray. Plus, we had made 3 huge bowls “kid-friendly” margaritas. The next table had all sorts of chips with different chip dips.
We got helium balloons that went on the sides or the house, the mailbox, and the fountain table. We decorated Marisa’s car as a secret during the party. We had badminton and other games set up in the backyard.
Bob set up an amazing stereo system. He took out our huge speakers and hooked the system up to my laptop where Marisa had made a playlist on Youtube. It was a HUGE success. The kids did the Cha Cha slide and Cupid Shuffle. It was hilarious watching them do it all on the grass. They were all having so much fun.
(We had to have an umbrella on the computer becuase it kept overheating. It was super hot)
It was 90° when the party started so it was superhot. There were some girls that decided to lay out. That’s when I put my evil plan in to motion. I dared Tyler to hit them with a water balloon! You should have seen their faces! The following photos show what happened afterwards. It was so fun and they all loved getting wet. Eventually a hose, sprinklers and large pitchers became involved. Look out!
(Giving Marisa a wet hug)
She got a ton of presents. I really didn’t think many were going to bring one since this was open house type thing. But her friends know her WAY too well. They bought her 21 packs of gum, drinks and granola bars, chocolate, nail polish, and jewelry. You really couldn’t go wrong with all that!
(She has on her tennis shirt that says “You only live once” on the front, “but you get to serve twice” on the back)
The cake was to DIE for. I am so not kidding you! I found this amazing recipe online in this blog…I sent I to Corey and she tried it and said it was amazing. So, she made 3 of them!! I TOTALLY forgot to take pics of the cakes, so just checkout the website. But they are SO worth making!! Seriously to DIE for!
After everyone was done playing outside, we came in and watched Avatar. The picture I got only had ½ the people down at the time. Anyway, it was fun watching Avatar again and with most of the kids who had never seen it.

*A Special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Hart and Angela for coming to help me with all the food and set up. I couldn’t have done it without you!!
HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN MARISA!!!
